The north, melting

Arctic sea ice may be on pace for a record low this summer:

And, according to new analysis by Jason Box, Greenland's becoming increasingly less reflective because of all the melting ice:

    Actually, he didn't quite say that "I don’t know the relative contribution of impurities versus the reflectivity reduction resulting from the first 3 melt factors".

  2. Fair point. The deposition of soot, etc. is also a contributing factor. There must be some interesting interaction though, since as ice melts the density of the impurities should increase.
